Snowflakes, snowflakes....

I've always longed for a good snowflake die and somehow never got one. I recently got myself a very pretty set of snowflakes die from Spellbinders and now I can finally make pretty, pretty snowflakes. Which is exactly what I did last night...........made a complete set of CAS cards with glittery, shimmery snowflakes. Here's one of them...

and here's the complete set:

CAS birthday card

I made another card within 2 days! And I seem to be getting my mojo back too, yay!!
This one has a stamped and heat embossed background, the stamp is a really old one from Unity. I ran over the stamped part with some distress paints followed by splatters of perfect pearls mixed with water.
The butterfly is by Hero Arts, coloured with distress markers and some wink of Stella glitter. The sentiment is from PTI.

'Getting to know me' bloghop

Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for visiting my blog - this post is part of the 'Getting to know me' bloghop which has been going around in blogland for some time now. I guess I am extremely late, but hey...better late than never!
First up I would like to thank Sujana from Crafting with Passion for tagging me and for saying some really nice things about my work. Sujana makes the most innovative exploding boxes among other equally creative stuff. Her creations for her daughter's birthday parties are simply awesome.
Ok so now for the questions I need to answer for the bloghop
1. What am I working on?
Even though I like to finish one project before moving on to the next, my mind keeps wandering to imaginary projects that I would love to make someday. Currently I am working on Guest DT project - a layout featuring my daughter(I don't make enough of those)
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
Well I guess every crafter has her own style

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
I create because it makes me feel good...it is a great stress buster
4. How does your writing/creating process work?
My inspiration comes from all over - for creating cards I like to follow a sketch - CAS cards are my favorite and I find they are more difficult to make than a card with lots of layers and embellishments.

5. What is my signature style?
It has to be bright and happy, but now I'm inclined towards vintage or a mix of both

6. What are my favorite things I love to create with at the moment?
Shimmer Sprays - they seem to add life and character to just about everything. Given the option I would just cover my whole house in shimmer :)

So that's it about me (for now :P)
I would like to tag Archana from Handmade Cards by Archana. Acrhana is one of my favorite crafters, she is super creative, I love her CAS style....the textures and colors on her cards are amazing! Do check out her work here.
Thanks for visiting

Every Hobbyist's Dream Come True!

I am sure there is no crafter a.k.a. hobbyist in India who has not heard about Itsy Bitsy (well incase you still haven't, do check out their website here). The Store has to be one of the best things I like about living in Bangalore :P
I have been a regular shopper with them since 2009...their handmade embellishments have been my all time favorites.Another hot favorite of mine is Die Cuts with a View patterned paper stacks - they have a HUGE range
And what I like most about the store is....well of course the sales!!! With offers like 50% off on DCWV paper stacks and handmade boutique elements....who wouldn't?
So when one such awesome sale was announced by Itsy Bitsy to celebrate the opening of their new store at JP Nagar 7th Phase I knew I just had to go even if the place is 30 kms from my place, and I am sure glad I did!
I was there at the shop, spot on at 10 am on 10th August, the opening day.
I was the first customer to get there, the opening preparations were still ongoing. I got a chance to meet the store's owners Rashmi and Harish Closepet and was pleasantly surprised when they requested me to cut the inaugural ribbon!

As soon as I stepped into the shop, aisle upon aisle of craft goodies beckoned!

I headed straight to the patterned paper rack and picked up 12 stacks of gorgeous DCWV stacks! followed by some handmade paper, Thai paper, tons of embellishments and lots more.

And while I was busy shopping to my heart's content (and burning a BIG hole in my pocket) DH kept our little one busy at the scrapbook workshop.

And here's a glimpse of what I got

So if you are in Bangalore do head out to Itsy Bitsy at JP Nagar for the most amazing deals in craft supplies, the sale is on till 24th August.
