You + me = awesome

handmade card with watercolor chevron background with jane's doodles stamps
Hello everyone!I am taking the Water Color for Card Makers online card class.
It's already into day 3 but I am still on Day 1 :) I want to take it slow and try out all the techniques taught in each session before moving onto the next lesson. It is by far the most informative online class I have ever taking!

In this card I have tried out brush strokes with my 1/4th" flat brush and created a free hand chevron pattern. I need a lot to practice to get it right, but I like this imperfect version too :)
The sentiment is from the "Love" stamp set from Jane's Doodles

I love mew

Hello everyone! After months of contemplation I finally got myself a Molotow masking pen. I am so happy I got it :) It's so much fun to use!! This is the first card I created using it and I am so, so happy with the results. I did have a failed attempt yesterday, it ended in a total mess because I didn't let the water-coloring dry completely before adding the masking fluid on top.
For this card, I first colored the cats which are from the "I knead you" set from My Favorite Things with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and covered them with masking fluid once they were completely. Colored the background with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors once the mask dried.
Here's a closer look the mask after coloring the background.
Getting the mask off was easy, I just erased it with a pencil eraser.
Finished off the card by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment, also from the same set, and mounting it with double sided foam tape. Thank you so much for stopping here today!

Persian Motifs

Hello everyone! This is my second post of the day. I've used Altenew's Persian Motifs stampset, I had been admiring projects created using this set by fellow crafters and finally bought it last month....I first stamped and heat embossed the images and then colored them with Gansai Tambi watercolors. Added some silver and teal paint splatters and silver sequins to finish the card. The sentiment is from Jane's Doodles "Doodle Flowers" set.
Can you make out from the photos that I reversed the colors of the motifs in the top panel as compared to the bottom panel?

The blooms are diecut with the "Bold Bloom" die by Ellen Hutson.
Also playing along the CASEplorations January Challenge. I was inspired by beautiful colors and stenciled background of this gorgeous card by Laura Bassen.

Lots of triangles

Happy Wednesday everyone! Mine is not so happy with a bad sinus headache :(
Sharing another card for the Essentials by Ellen Mix it up January Challenge. I've used the Patterned Triangle  Background Stamp from MFT and the Be-you-tiful die from Essentials by Ellen.
I first stamped and heat embossed the background and then colored it with distress inks. I then die-cut the sentiment on the background and also with some black cardstock and inlayed the black die-cut into the background to create a one layer card. I finished my card by adding some clear sequins by pretty pink posh.

Bokeh Dots Flowers

Hello everyone, happy Tuesday! Sharing a happy thank you watercolor card today.
I used the "Bokeh Dots" stamps from Ellen Hutson to stamp some whimsical flowers around the sentiment. The sentiment is from the "Written in Watercolor" set from MFT stamps. I used my new Gansai Tambi watercolors to color the flowers, this was my first attempt with them and there is a lot to learn but I love the result.

My First Video for "Happy Little Stampers"

Hello Everyone! I have some exciting news to share, I've been selected for the Video Tutorial and Mixed Media Challenge blog teams for Happy Little Stampers. I'm over the moon and so grateful to Kylie for giving me this opportunity.
Here's the first card I made for Happy Little Stampers. I've used the "Butterfly Birthday" stamp set, these stamps are very high quality and stamp really well with crisp images. I stamped the butterflies randomly in gold and heat embossed them to create the background. I colored the butterflies with Lindy's Stamp Gang Shimmer Sprays using a paint brush, the result was gorgeous shimmery butterflies :)
The sentiment is from the "Mix Mash" set also from Happy Little Stampers.
You can watch how I made this card at the Happy Little Stamper Channel or here

Doodle Flowers watercoloring

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing another card I made with the Jane' Doodles "Doodle Flowers" stamp set. The first card I made with this set can be found here. Playing with this set uplifts my mood, it is so happy :).
I love coloring the blooms with bright colors. I water colored the flowers with some inexpensive local Indian watercolors called "Nirmal Watercolors"; I tried these for the first time, they are a gift from one of my favorite crafty friends Tejal.....thank you so much girl....I'm having so much fun with these! These are similar to Peerless Watercolors and also come in concentrated color sheets, the colors are vivid and extremely water soluble.

Winnie and Walter "Thanks"

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I'm starting the year with a card using Winnie and Walter stamps and dies. I created the background by randomly stamping a leaf stalk from the "In Bloom: Renee's Leaves" stamp set on bright yellow textured card stock and coloring with Derwent Inktence Color pencils. Since these are watercolor pencils, I added a little water to the colored image to create a vivid, translucent effect. I also added some shadows around the leaves with a grey Zig Clean Color Real Brush Marker; and finally spread and mixed all the colors a bit by going over the entire background with a wet brush. I added the die cut sentiment, also from Winnie and Walter over vellum to finish the card.
